Submission Guidelines for CSTPV Blog

All submissions should match one of the following criteria:

  • Does the piece concern recent events in terrorism and political violence?
  • Is the piece referencing new research in the field?
  • Is the piece a write up of a recent event at St Andrews?
  • Does the piece provide a new perspective of older events or research in terrorism and research?

Blog Posts must be 500-1,000 words long and be academically referenced. However the reference style choice will be left to the author.

All pieces will be sent to [email protected] and be put through the editing process. Pieces may be returned to the author for further editing, rejected, or published without further input from the author.

If you are interested in writing up a CSTPV event please contact the editorial team at [email protected] to express your interest. Only one writer will cover each event so please contact us early to ensure that you do not miss out.

In order to be eligible for the annual Best Blog Post, you must be a matriculated student at the University of St Andrews at the time that your blog post is published and have your piece published during the academic year in which the prize is awarded. The Best Blog Post will run alongside every academic year and will be awarded at the discretion of the editorial team.
