Research on terrorism has often been accused of being over-reactive to recent events and highly volatile in its attention-spans. By contrast, Handa CSTPV remains resolutely committed to producing scholarship that will prove of enduring value to future generations of students and scholars.

We are therefore very proud of our partnership with Lynne Rienner Publishers that supports a dedicated monograph series: Studies in Terrorism and Political Violence. The series is intended to encompass

  • Conceptual analyses to sharpen theoretical understanding
  • Case studies of political violence
  • Explorations of the varying actors, techniques, and consequences involved.

As our series title indicates, we deliberately take broad views of our subject area. We therefore warmly welcome proposals for original research monographs on any aspect of contemporary terrorism and political violence. Both state and anti-state terrorism intrigue us as phenomena and studies of both have already appeared in the series. Some examples are given below.
