Peter Bothwell is a Doctoral Candidate whose research aims to understand modern agency and alienation in the United Kingdom through a comparison of Ulster Loyalist and British mainland working-class communities. He is supervised by Dr Jeffrey Murer and Dr Kieran McConaghy.

His interests include:

  • Sociological, political, and psychoanalytic theory
  • Critical approaches to terrorism and political violence

Peter holds an MA in International Relations from the University of St Andrews and an MSc in Comparative Social Change from Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
